What Is Gifio?

Gifio is a free GIF maker that runs entirely in your browser. Drop in images, style them, tune the timing, download your GIF. Your images never leave your device — there’s no server, no uploads, no account, no tracking. It’s one HTML file with zero dependencies.

Why It Exists

Every other GIF maker either uploads your images to a server, wraps them in ads, limits output quality, or requires an account. Gifio does none of those things. It’s a single HTML file with a custom GIF89a encoder written from scratch — median cut quantization, Floyd-Steinberg dithering, LZW compression, per-frame timing. The AI features (face detection, smart timing, content analysis) run in the browser using native APIs. Nothing leaves your device.

We built it because a tool this simple shouldn’t require giving your photos to a stranger.
